Vernissage

Thanks to Alessandro Passerini for this beautiful talk about art and photography and how hard can be working in Italy for an artist. The talk is an episode of his feature Vernissage on YouTube and unfortunately it’s only in Italian. In this video my thoughts, my story and the Top 5 of the photographers that most influenced my way of photograph:

New Video: Monopoli 2009-2022

Monopoli is a beautiful town and municipality in Italy, in the metropolitan city of Bari and region of Apulia. For me Monopoli, the birthplace of my mother and my grandparents, is a city of sea and sun, of love, of memories. I go to Monopoli every summer for a while and in the last 15 years I took a lot of pictures. In this video you can watch a selection of images I took in Monopoli between 2009 and 2022.

Monopoli (40 Pics)

Last week I’m back in Roma after a beautiful month in Monopoli, in the Southern Italy, where I basically go every summer since when I was born. Looking at the pictures I have taken in this place year after year, I noticed that I have a good body of work. So I’ll try to show you a selection of images, just to close this chapter (for this year) and come back to my “Roman affairs”!

Color / B&W #1

In the last two weeks I wrote on this blog a sort of journal about my life at home (and I’ll do it until all this nightmare it will end, it’s very helpful), talking about how photography affects my day and, most generally, thoughts about this situation and our condition. It’s good sometimes to come back to photography so I want to begin a new feature, where I’ll show you some of my street photos in double version, color and black and white. I always posted on my channels the first one because reminds me the cover of Bob Dylan’s The Freewheelin’, but I think it’s time to hear your thoughts!

World Cup 2006: an Italian Night

9 July 2006: an important day for all the italian football fans, it’s the day when we won our 4th World Cup, after a tense final match against France. I found an old album of photos with the celebrations of that night, on the streets of Rome, since the final whistle to the first lights of the morning. I had with me an old digital camera, the quality of this selection of pictures is not incredible, but it’s interesting to watch it as a reportage of that unforgettable night.
