Saturday morning I was drinking a coffee in my apartment when I suddenly heard drums and whistles fill the silence. They came from the street, so I went to my window and I saw a parade, there was lot of people walking and dancing. So I dress with the first thing I found and I ran downstairs to take part of the parade and take some pictures too. It was the 14th edition of the Anti-racist Carnival of Garbatella, my neighborhood. It was really fun. Here a selection of images I took:Continue reading
14 February 2023
A nice walk in the afternoon to enjoy the sun and take some pictures. I love the first image, a couple on Ponte Sisto, and it would be nice to find them to give them this photo as a gift. It really would be nice. The second photo made me think a lot. When I was a teenager I used to do stupid jokes with my friends, talking a lot about nonsenses. I enjoyed their company. In this photo everyone of this classroom is watching at his/her smartphone. What happened? I don’t want to judge, it’s just a consideration about our times. What do you think?Continue reading
Chinese New Year
Yesterday I went in the Roman Chinatown, the Esquilino neighborhood, to watch how the Chinese community (and Romans too) celebrated the Chinese New Year, the year of the rabbit. It was the perfect situation to take some pictures and ask a girl for a portrait. This kind of event are really great for street photography, there is a lot of people and a lot of story to tell through photography. There was a kid peeping behind the curtain a show on the stage, I loved that. Here a gallery of image I took yesterday during the celebrations of Chinese New Year.Continue reading
28 January 2023
A beautiful walk to the Musei Capitolini is always a good way to discover, once again, the beautiful art of Romans and the stunning past of my city. Sometimes I forget to live in a city like Rome, in such a incredible place, so it’s important to remind me, through museums and walks, how beautiful can be, despite the difficulties, costs etc.
My Best Street Photos of 2022
This year is almost gone. I don’t want to write a post about my 2022, it would be too self-centred and boring. By the way, it’s been a year full of different things, good and bad, as happens to everybody, I guess. But let’s talk about photography. I tried to select the best street photos I took during this year, since the midnight of the 1 January until now (well, 2022 is not over and maybe I could take some good photos today or tomorrow, but I don’t think so…). Just pure street photos, no Raindrop Blues nor Urban Melodies. I chose the photos according to my personal taste, so I’m not really sure about my selection, I’m not a great editor of myself. But it’s ok, here is the gallery and I hope you will enjoy it!
I wish you the best for 2023 and I hope you can achieve all your good resolutions. See you next year and thanks for being here.Continue reading
8 December 2022
Yesterday I was walking on Ponte Sisto, the bridge that connect the Historic Center of Rome with Trastevere. When I saw that hand I immediately took a photo of it, I didn’t want their heads in the picture, just that hand, so clear in the middle of the darkness. It’s slightly out of focus, but I had to carpe diem!
4 December 2022
Today I walked around Colosseo and I met a guy, he was about to do a wedding proposal (I guess). I asked him for a portrait and he said yes (I hope his girlfriend said yes too!). Then I took a photo of a beautiful sunset (nothing original, I know). Then I tried to change completely my style. I felt a bit melancholic today so I tried to send the blues away through photography. I took some image in black and white and then I used a blue tone to underline my feelings. And after this shoots I felt better: creativity can be a great therapy.Continue reading
Roma Coast to Coast 2022 – Mura Aureliane
Here we are. I talked a lot about my new Roma Coast to Coast, so you already know everything. Now the gallery is finally ready, so there’s nothing else to say, I just have to show you the pictures. I enjoyed this walk very much and I hope you will enjoy it too. Here I’ll show you just a selection, the entire reportage (98 photos) for now is only on my Facebook page. This is the result of a 20km walk along the ancient Aurelian Walls: do you like it?Continue reading
Photography and Other Stuff – Chapter 9
October is almost gone and it’s been a month full of interesting things. The 17th edition of Rome Film Fest is over and I’m back to my usual life after ten days full of movies and passion for Cinema. It’s always nice to live in a “different dimension” where everybody talks about films and the problems of the real world seem to be far and distant. But, at the end, you have to come back to your life and so… Well, in this new chapter you will find a selection of my latest street photos from Rome, as usual, my photos at Rome Film Fest, of course, new portraits for my Film People Project, a new photo from my series Raindrop Blues (right below) and a lot more. Enjoy!Continue reading
My Apulian Summer
Summer is gone: I’m back in Rome, to my “usual” life, and now I have to look back to my Apulian summer to watch the photos I took, the life I caught, the moments I tried to keep in mind (and in the camera). It’s been a beautiful summer (even if I got the Corona), full of things to do, waves to swim, friends to meet and streets to walk. Of course I took a lot of pictures, included something for my series Raindrop Blues and Film People (not in this post, but there will be in the next chapter of “Photography and Other Stuff”, coming soon). Here a small selection of some (maybe) good street photo of my summer in Monopoli (and other cities too), hope you’re going to like it! All the pictures are taken with Ricoh GR III Street Edition.Continue reading
