“The Pursuit of (my) Happiness” by Massimiliano Vecchi

Last year italian photographer Massimiliano Vecchi went in Africa for an amazing travel that changed his perspective about life itself. “I didn’t go in Ghana to shoot a reportage”, says Massimiliano, “our mission was to live the experience helping people of Potter’s Village”. He doesn’t want to call it “reportage” because he didn’t prepare it, but actually is one of the most interesting and impressive series of pictures that I’ve seen in the last months: “I didn’t look for anything, I let the journey guide me. It’s been the freest mental condition for a photographer”. In these beautiful images taken in Dodowa and Potter’s Village emerge a visual and vital power that is difficult to tell with words. You can see here a small selection of images (and a 4 minutes touching video that describes the experience), but I warmly reccomend you to watch the entire album on Massimiliano’s website: L’Africa, il Ghana, Dodowa ed il Potter’s Village: la ricerca della (mia) felicità. The best thing that you’ll see today (and also tomorrow).

Here is Title, Poster and Description of My New Series!

LM

[Ecco titolo, poster e descrizione del mio nuovo progetto: in basso la versione in italiano]

[ENG] We all carry within us the title of a film, a movie that has marked our memories and which, in some way, defines us. If it’s true that a photographic portrait can tell a lot, even more can tell the film we are more attached to. The goal of this project is to tell the people portrayed through the cinema, through a film that can define them, thus revealing a piece of their soul: as the “book people” of Fahrenheit 451 preserved the memory of the books, in the same way my series, FILM PEOPLE, wants to link every person to the film of his life.

February 2019

Hi everybody! Sorry for being far from the blog in the last month, I was really busy with a new, exciting, project: I’ve been every week in a small town in the middle of Italy to teach photography to 15 students of the middle school: it’s been one of the most beautiful experience of my life as a photographer and in the next days I’ll show you some shoots realized by my students, they are stunning. As always I’m going to post my best 10 street photos of this month. I didn’t take a lot of pictures in February, but that’s it.

Best of 2018

_MG_0336

Here we are. 2018 is almost gone: for me this is the moment to look back and see what I did. It’s been a very good year for me: Sicily, London, Naples (two times), an artistic residence on a cruise and a lot of other little nice things. I tried to choose the 30 best street photos I did this year, I don’t know if I did a good selection, but here they are.

October 2018

_MG_8525

In October I didn’t take many street photos because the first week of the month I had to set my exhibition “Raindrop Blues”, the second week I’ve got the fever, the last two weeks I was attending Rome Film Fest, so… It’s not easy to find my best 10 street photos of the month, but let’s try, even though ALL the images are taken at the Film Festival. November will be better, for sure.

September 2018

_MG_6720b

Hi everybody. Just a little update before showing you my monthly selection with the 10 best photos I’ve taken in September. Well, I’ve been in London to realize a new set of Urban Melodies (you can watch some of them on my FB page or Instagram). Then I had to work a lot for my upcoming exhibition and for some commissioned works. So it’s explained my lack of presence on this blog, I’m really sorry. I’d like to post more constantly, but time is really a issue. By the way, London was amazing. Well, here my 10 best street photos of September, hope you’ll like them.
