November 2019

November spawned a monster, as Morrissey should say. Beside beautiful songs, November really was a month full of rain (and it’s normal), where I took not many street photos (less normal). In this month I was focused on commissioned works, I went to Amman, Jordan, for a job, but I’ve seen only the airport and the hotel, so I didn’t have time to wander and explore the city (and I had the fever, as well!). So the selection of this month is not so rich, but here it is: my 10 best images of November.

“Japan” by Daniele Salutari

06b

The country that I always dream about is, without any doubt, Japan. I’d really like to visit it one day, I think it would be the best for my photography style and for my taste. When this amazing country meets a great street photographer like Daniele Salutari, after seeing the images I dream of Japan even more, if possible. But words are not enough to explain it, let the images talk! Enjoy this gallery and visit Daniele’s website or Instagram.

Roma Photo Marathon 2019

I’m back after a move to a new flat so, as you can guess, I’m exhausted. But in these weeks I had some great news, at the beginning of September I’ve been awarded at Roma Photo Marathon, where I collected three prizes: Best picture in the category “Swirls”, the second prize in the category “Five” and the third prize as Best Photographer of the Marathon. The Photo Marathon is a contest where you have to shoot during one day nine picture, one for each category. The organization give three themes every three hours, so it’s a very interesting challenge. So happy for this recognition among hundreds of other photographers.

June 2019

chicago01head

Spring is gone, summer is here. June is been a busy month, but also a month full of satisfactions: I went in Chicago to showcase my Urban Melodies at Priztker Forum on Global Cities and it’s been wonderful (as I’ve already told in my last post). After Chicago I had to leave my apartment in Rome after 6 beautiful years: waiting to move in another one in September, always in Rome, I’m in the Southern Italy like every summer. This month I want to show you 20 and not 10 of my best street photos of the last 30 days, all taken in Chicago. What about next month? Well, I’m about to go in Greece as a wedding photographer, it’s something rare for me, I do it only for friends or for people that permit me to realize something special for their wedding, something different than the usual wedding pictures. Maybe I’ll show you something of my unseen wedding photos in a future post… After the wedding I’ll be back in Monopoli again, in the Southern Italy, to finally enjoy my well-deserved holidays. Well, it’s time to show you my best of June: hope you will enjoy the gallery. See you soon.

May 2019

I’m sorry. I’m so busy and I forgot to post my usual “Best of the Month”. May in Rome was everything but the spring: rain all the time, rain and more rain. It’s been the month of the annual Rome Photo Marathon, so it’s been a good occasion to go out all day long and take some picture. Here my 10 best street photos of last month.

April 2019

_MG_1282b

“April, come she will”, as Simon and Garfunkel used to sing. I’m not going out just for street photography, in these weeks I’m really focused on my three projects Urban Melodies (ready to fly to Chicago for my biggest exhibition), Raindrop Blues and the latest Film People (in these days a selection of this series is in Teatro Palladium in Rome for the amazing Roma Tre Film Festival), so it’s hard to go out in the street and shoot without an idea behind. By the way, as every month I’m going to show you my 10 best street photos, so take a look here to watch my best pictures of April.

Ten Minutes More

[Dieci minuti in più: in basso la versione in italiano]

[ENG] One of the unwritten rules of Street Photography suggests to walk 10 more minutes. I mean: when you have finished your shooting and you are about to go back home, when you are about to put the camera in your bag, well, walk and take photos for 10 more minutes. Sometimes you will be able to find a little treasure that you wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. For example, last week I went out to take some pictures for my Raindrop Blues series. After a two-hour shoot under the rain, I decided to take the subway and go home. Here, instead of taking the train and leaving, I thought I’d walk 10 more minutes to photograph a little more and walk to the next subway station. The best image of my shooting was taken in those 10 more minutes of work. It’s not a “rule” that can always work, of course, but every once in a while striving to add a little more time to what you have already did can give great results.

March 2019

_MG_0880b

Spring has arrived and with it the usual post with the 10 best photos of the previous month. In March I focused mainly on my new Film People project (that you can follow in this website or the new Instagram page), which is why I took very few street photographs (only 5, the ones you find in this post, along with 5 portraits of the project). Hope that April will be better for my street photos…

January 2019

The first month of the year is the month that took me for three days in Milan to attend the Affordable Art Fair, where the stand of Pica Photo, in which I exposed my photos, was chosen by Sky Arte for the Best Booth Award. Like every first day of the month, let’s see the 10 best street photos I took in the previous month. It’s very cold and for this reason I didn’t take many photos: it’s time to get out of the comfort zone and go around with the camera!

September 2018

_MG_6720b

Hi everybody. Just a little update before showing you my monthly selection with the 10 best photos I’ve taken in September. Well, I’ve been in London to realize a new set of Urban Melodies (you can watch some of them on my FB page or Instagram). Then I had to work a lot for my upcoming exhibition and for some commissioned works. So it’s explained my lack of presence on this blog, I’m really sorry. I’d like to post more constantly, but time is really a issue. By the way, London was amazing. Well, here my 10 best street photos of September, hope you’ll like them.
