Une belle fille comme moi

Solo travel is an experience like none other. It allows you to enjoy a destination on your own terms, without the distractions or schedule of others. It gives you time for contemplation and personal growth. Well, this is one of the first pictures I took in my first solo travel in Europe, six years ago (it was May 2009).

It was a very warm day in Paris. A young girl lost her sunglasses in Trocadero fountain so she decided to enter in the water in order to find her glasses. She didn’t find them. So she went out and, under the eyes of the Eiffel Tower, she began to wring her clothes. I took pictures of the entire scene, but I think that this one was the most significative. One year later, when I did my first exhibition, Appunti di viaggio (“Notes of travel”), this picture was in the poster of that event. The name of this photo, Une belle fille comme moi (“A beutiful girl like me”), comes from a François Truffaut’s movie.
